How we make pods taste this good
Our Unique Process
Making pods isn't just a matter of grinding up your espresso blends and sealing them in a capsule - it requires a different roasting approach to ensure a quality extraction.
Compared to an espresso machine, pod machines have lower pressure and lower water temperature. To achieve an optimum extraction in this environment, we need to increase the solubility of the coffee.
To do this, we accelerate the roasting process, increasing the solubility to the point that we are able to achieve a flavourful and strong shot. Once roasted, we rest the whole beans for a short period to de-gas, and then grind fresh just before encapsulating.
As the last step, our capsules are flushed with nitrogen as they are sealed, to preserve the coffee's flavour and aroma.
